Nostalgia de la Luz (2010) is a film about the distance between heaven and earth, between the light of the cosmos and human beings, and the mysterious travels back and forth that bound them. In Chile, at an altitude of three thousand meters, astronomers from around the world gather in the Atacama Desert to observe the stars. Up there, the transparency of the sky allows you to see the borders of the universe. Below, the extreme dryness of the earth preserves the human remains intact: mummies, explorers, adventurers, natives, miners and the bones of the political prisoners of the dictatorship. As the astronomers search for extraterrestrial life, a group of women remove the stones, looking for their missing relatives.
The film places us somewhere between the beginning and the end, beyond the present. The gaze travels between the earth and the sky, between life-before-life and life-after-death. It tells us about the possibility of perceiving the traces of a previous life, where no one sees anything: the desert or the darkness of the universe.
As part of the project Becoming Immortal and Then Dying, presented by curator Caterina Almirall at La Capella, the film explores two different searches that happen in the same place, the desert, and that share the need to solve the question of origin, the need to remember. In a way the desert is a space that preserves the traces of the past, being simultaneously a vast museum to decipher and a necropolis.

És curadora independent i professora. Com a curadora, el seu treball manté sempre un interès sobre el propi camp artístic, entenent la pràctica artística com un espai de producció de coneixement i de qüestionament sobre el món. Els últims temps ha centrat les seves recerques entorn del fet expositiu i la pràctica mediadora, amb especial interès en alló màgic entenent la pràctica artística com un ritual i com un lloc d’aprenentatge. Va iniciar el treball en comissariat amb l’espai autogestionat el Passadís, a Barcelona, actiu entre 2013 i 2016. Des de llavors ha desenvolupat projectes de comissariat a Barcelona en la galeria etHall, 2020, Bombon Projects, 2019; Can Felipa, 2018, Sala d’Art Jove de Barcelona, 2015. Ha exposat també en el Centre d’Art Maristany, Sant Cugat del Vallès; MAC, Mataró; La Panera, Lleida; Espai Trapézio, Madrid, entre d’altres. Ha estat la curadora del cicle anual Terrassa Comissariat 2017/18, i del programa Ephemeral de la fira SWAB Barcelona 2018, 2019 i 2020. Li interessa experimentar amb la pràctica curatorial i creadora, establint nombroses col·laboracions amb altres artistes i col·lectius en projectes de recerca, creació o publicació. Escriu habitualment per la revista de crítica A*Desk. És professora de Sociologia de l’Art en la Facultat de Belles Arts de la UB des de 2016, i del Postgrau-Màster de Mediació Artística en la Facultat de Pedagogia de la UB, des de 2018. Ha estat jurat en convocatòries de creació i recerca en BaumannLab Terrassa i en L’Escocesa, Barcelona. Actualment és membre de la comissió de Programes d’Hangar. És Llicenciada en Belles arts i té un Màster en Art i Educació per la Universitat de Barcelona. Actualment segueix el programa de doctorat en Educació de les arts i la cultura visual, en la Facultat de Belles arts de la Universitat de Barcelona amb una recerca en clau sociològica sobre la relació entre les pràctiques autogestionades i institucionals en l’àmbit artístic de Barcelona, prestant especial atenció al rol dels comissaris i comissàries.
