A runner attempts to achieve a personal goal, a 24-hour run, as a tribute to Mariana, who is disabled since birth. She suffers from cerebral palsy, caused by a problematic preterm delivery, and has remained in home care ever since. He has never met her, but knows about her fate. Through an abstract narrative, the aim is to go beneath the mainstream perceptions of heroic act and achievement, meaning of effort, and inner happiness.

Lucia Papčová graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 2013. During her doctoral studies at Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava she was a visiting student researcher at Central Saint Martins in London. She participated at exhibitions in Europe and USA, including Kunstlerhaus Klagenfurt, Sudek Atelier in Prague, Kunsthalle Bratislava, Essl Museum in Klosteneuburg, Christian Duvernois Gallery in New York City. She was awarded CEE Calling AIR in Klagenfurt, Civitella Ranieri Fellowship, AIR at Residency Unlimited in NY, AIR Krems and Essl Award CEE VIG. Her artwork is included in Albertina Museum Collection, Nitra Gallery and in private collections in Slovakia, Germany, Portugal and USA.

The gallery was founded in 2011 with an aim of presenting Czech and Slovak contemporary artists to the world scene. It has two locations – Prague and Bratislava. The focus is on the outstanding talent in both countries, but not only. The long-term approach is balanced – along with the established artists, the gallery explores young and emerging talent as well. Gallery has also a broader outreach – it organizes presentations and other initiatives for professionals and students of art, with a clear focus on contemporary art. It is active in publishing monograph catalogues and books of gallery artists. It participates at various art fairs, e.g. Art Cologne, VOLTA Basel, viennacontemporary. Over the years, the gallery has become one of the leading galleries in the region.
