Our body feels something and becomes anxious, and because it is anxious, it seeks to feel something. If I pull on tape with my fingers and cut it, what will my body feel? Textures, shapes, contacts. All sorts of associations are made and mixed together without limits. And then again our body feels awkward, delicately and sensually.

Nacida en 1984, Yoriko Mizushiri es una cineasta independiente que se licenció en la Universidad de Arte y Diseño Joshibi, donde dirigió algunas de sus películas, como Shiri-play (2005), Kappo (2006), Enyogu (2007), Lena Lena (2009) y Sushi (2011). Entre sus fuentes de inspiración figuran el artista de manga Yasuji Tanioka y la joven pintora Tomoko Kashiki.
A continuación, se embarcó en su trilogía enfocada en el sentido del tacto: Futon (2012), Snow Hut (2013), 2 y Veil (2014). Mediante estas películas, fue nominada y galardonada en los principales festivales de animación, como Berlinale, Annecy y Zagreb.

Miyu Productions, one of the leading independent animation production and distribution companies, awarded in the most important festivals, opened the Galerie Miyu in Paris on 23 April 2022. Galerie Miyu is the first physical gallery dedicated to the arts and techniques of animation in the world and aims to be a bridge between animation artists and contemporary artists.
The objective of the gallery is to offer a space to promote the plastic work of animation filmmakers, but also to include animated techniques in the History of Contemporary Art at a time when more and more visual artists are seizing the possibilities offered by these techniques in their work.
The gallery is also intended to be open to all and will be a place of creation and meeting for artists in the field of contemporary creation who would like to use animation techniques for their work via production and exhibition support.
