Super 16mm film transferred to Full HD, Single-Channel Video, Sound
A hallucinatory journey that reminisces on the absurdity of death without attempting to understand it. “Banana” is used to describe what eternal loss has left behind. An excavation of caves where a civilization once flourished triggers something unexpected; an encounter with a mysterious woman whose pockets overflow with worried smiles. Colorful lights obscure fate as tickets are purchased to enjoy near-death experiences at amusement parks. The demise of ARPANET is remembered for its successor’s reign, as death is witnessed galloping between the stars. Against all odds, it appears to be wearing an alligator tail.

.artSümer, founded by Asli Sumer in Istanbul, 2005, focuses on showcasing cutting-edge contemporary art by local and international artists.
