Rebeliones by Gabriela Golder proposes a contemporary reading of the lithograph La internacional (1935), by the artist Guillermo Facio Hebequer (1889, Montevideo – 1935, Buenos Aires).
How many fluttering flags were the punctum in the representation of a popular clamour? Images that have become icons, images that have crystallised in our visual culture, gestures of revolt. Gabriela Golder tries to go beyond the performativity of this gesture frozen in time that transcends cultures, epochs and contexts. The artist seems to be concerned with the immobility of icons and seeks to expand their power by reinscribing them in a new action. The gesture in movement as a form of humanisation and collective affectation. The slowing down of action as a strategy to recover infinite instants of struggle.
The work is performed by workers from recovered factories and actors from community theatre groups.

Gabriela Golder (Argentina, 1971) es artista visual, investigadora, curadora y profesora en Argentina e internacionalmente. Su obra se centra principalmente en la imagen en movimiento, explorando temas como la memoria, la identidad, la violencia institucional y el trabajo.
Sus obras han recibido numerosos premios, entre ellos: Mención de Honor en la Bienal de Sharjah (2023); Premio ArtHaus a las Artes Electrónicas (2022); Premio Presidencia de la Nación en el 109° Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales (2021); Premio Itaú de Artes Visuales (2020); Estado da Arte en la 21ª Bienal Sesc_Videobrasil (2019); Ars Electronica, Proyecto 80+1 (2009); Premio de Arte de Medios del ZKM, Alemania (2004); y el Tokyo Video Award, Japón (2002).
Entre sus exposiciones recientes se destacan: Seeing through Stone, Museo de Arte de San José, EE.UU. (2024); Signos na Paisagem, Bienalsur, CCBB RJ, Brasil (2024); Dream City, Túnez (2023); Desert Eyes, Fundación Andreani, Buenos Aires (2023); Bienal de Sharjah, EAU (2023); y Droit du regard, Château de Goutelas, Francia (2022). Vive y trabaja en Buenos Aires, Argentina.
