Ebb and Flow is inspired by the I-Ching, the book of change, Chapter 42 – Yi (Increase). Yi is a message about expansion and fullness. It is simply another cycle of life as it flowers, decays, and achieves rebirth. Ebb and flow, darkness and light, life and death… ‘What is’ springs from ‘what is not. Lichun and Robert use 16mm film projectors and analog generated waveforms to create an immersive, trance-inducing journey. Through layering, constructing, and deconstructing visual and auditory textures they strive for a sense transcending experience where the spectator is no longer consciously watching nor listening. Just being.

Lichun Tseng
Lichun TSENG és una artista taiwanesa establerta als Països Baixos. Li interessa explorar l’experiència de les dimensions vitals de la vida, absorbint i participant en ella, captant la seva totalitat; en la qual la contemplació reflexiva són profunds impulsos mentals. En els últims anys ha investigat i treballat principalment amb pel·lícules de 16 mm, instal·lacions i performances. És membre principal de Filmwerkplaats Rotterdam.
Robert Kroos
Robert Kroos és músic, dissenyador de so i gravador de camp resident a Rotterdam. Explora la música i el so en totes les seves manifestacions i prefereix utilitzar les seves habilitats per donar suport a pel·lícules, animacions i instal·lacions. Els seus interessos se centren en les ones sinusoidals, la proximitat del so, l’enregistrament binaural i les ones cerebrals.
