Laveronica was founded in Modica in 2007 by Corrado Gugliotta.
The gallery collaborates with both Italian and international artists who share an interest in exploring the human condition – both in its public and political dimensions, and through more intimate reflections related to the private sphere.
In recent years, it has hosted the debut solo exhibitions in Italy of numerous artists, including Rabih Mroué, Adelita Husni-Bey, Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Igor Grubić, Johanna Billing, Uriel Orlow, Maryam Jafri, Jonas Staal, and Emory Douglas, former Minister of Culture of the Black Panther Party.
The gallery regularly participates in major international art fairs, and the works of its artists have been exhibited in and acquired by some of the world’s leading museums. As a testament to its bond with the local community, Laveronica has also organized numerous participatory projects in the region, including performances by Marinella Senatore and Adrian Paci.
