Within this presentation, Diego Bergamaschi introduced the practice and objectives of Seven Gravity Collection. The collection was founded in 2013, with the purchase of the video Other Gravity by Trisha Baga, following a personal exhibition of the artist at PeepHole, a center for contemporary art then active in Milan. The collection focuses on filmic language, developing research linked exclusively to video, a rather demanding and complex mèdium. Seven Gravity’s interest in video art responded to visual artists constantly growing experimentation in the field of moving images, investigating the processes of image digitization and promotion through the the Internet. The collection takes its name from the title of the exhibition and of the work by Baga, while “Seven” indicates the number of collectors part of this reality: a collecting collective in all respects. With the exception of Diego Bergamaschi, the other representatives of the group, wish to remain anonymous.
